With Andrea’s foundational training in yoga at the Kripalu Centre for Wellness her Hatha based practice emphasizes self-compassion, kind gentle attention and self-awareness without judgement. It is yoga that is centred on the quality of our attention throughout our experience and creating  opportunities to go within.

This is yoga for the self.  Yoga to savour.

SOMATICS

Somatic based practices incorporate a therapeutic approach to Andrea’s movement  offerings.  Her training on Somatic Therapeutic Yoga Training in the U.K. offers a specific leaning toward healing & recovery. Emphasis is on working with the nervous system and nurturing embodied awareness to move through and beyond  stress, trauma, burnout, anxiety, and fatigue.

TRAUMA CENTRED
TRAUMA SENSITIVE

Andrea’s offering of yoga through a trauma informed lens, stems from certification in TCTSY Yoga (Trauma Centre for Trauma Sensitive Yoga), an evidence based treatment for complex trauma and PTSD. With underpinnings of trauma theory, attachment theory and neuroscience, focus is on the internal experience and felt sense, promoting agency, choice-making and restoring a mind/body  connection.

No  prior experience in yoga is required to participate in any of the practices.  - Each practice is tailored to your needs and can include yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and personalized guidance.
